Schotia Private Game Reserve – Tooth & Claw Safari
Experience the thrill of the Big 5 at Schotia Safaris, the oldest private game reserve in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, located next to the eastern boundary of Addo Elephant National Park.
This malaria-free reserve is home to over 2,000 animals across 40+ mammal species, making it one of Africa’s best locations for year-round wildlife viewing. Schotia was the first reserve in the Cape Province to feature free-roaming lions, ensuring sightings of these majestic predators on almost every game drive. The Tooth & Claw Safari takes you in an open 4×4 vehicle on a fully guided tour, bringing you close to lions, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, and more. A short stop for refreshments and a restroom break gives you a chance to recharge before continuing your adventure.
After an incredible wildlife experience, enjoy a delicious dinner cooked over an open fire in true African style. The safari concludes with a spotlighted night drive, offering glimpses of nocturnal creatures as you return to the lodge, rounding off a remarkable day on the reserve.

(35 000 hectares) Let our experienced guides that have trained eyes for spotting the wildlife, local knowledge regarding animal identification, local history, vegetation local culture and stories, take you to the highlighted areas of the park.
The full day tour starts at 09:00 am till 17:00 The duration of the game drive will be 8 and 9 hours. Mid-morning we will be enjoying refreshments at Jacks Picnic Place, there after we will continue to the northern part of the park for further viewing. Lunch will be at the Addo Elephant Park restaurant. After lunch we will go back towards the Southern gate for more game viewing.
